about

Harry Panic is happy to share this year's edition of his Drone Day releases with you. The first Track is a side-long straight-up drone (Harry tends to think in terms of LPs when making these albums). Although the sounds are somewhat static, Harry assures us that there are changes every 30 seconds or so. In fact, by the end of it, you'll have listened to one really loooooong chord change. And Harry swears that he can hear voices repeating phrases here and there, even though no vocals were recorded. But you really have to listen for them.

Things go from stasis to a bit more movement on the second Track (the first on Side 2 if you pretend you've flipped the record over). And then it all ends on something quite different for the Ataraxia series as a melody struggles to put itself together and break through for a moment before it disintegrates and disappears. If nothing else, Harry hopes that if you don't have the patience for the first two Tracks, you'll at least give "Ataraxia VI" a try. But he says it works best if you've listened to the other two first. And he highly recommends listening to them at a good volume with headphones and your full attention. Of course, as with a lot of drone music, it's also perfectly suitable for playing softly in the background as you do whatever it is you do while listening.

And whatever you do, Harry thanks you for stopping by, hopes you gave this Volume a listen and wishes you all a Happy Drone Day 2018!
